George was a 3 1/2 year old yellow lab owned by Jane Scheidler of Hillsboro, Oregon. One might say that George really was her son Joe's dog. The two were inseperable and followed each other around the house. George was considered a full member of the Scheidler household. They took George to the beach which he loved, on rides in the car, and involved him in all family activities.

The neighbors loved George. He was generally known in the neighborhood as a sweet loveable dog. George was very playful and friendly, to family and neighbors alike. Stacie Backus lives next door to the Scheidlers and is normally terrified of dogs. However she insists that George was the "friendliest, most wonderful dog" and she said "I never saw him approach ANYONE in a threatening manner". The other neighbors that know the Scheidlers agree that George was a wonderful dog, full of love and always eager to play and to please.

George was cut down in the prime of life by callous, uncaring off-duty Portland police officer John Hurlman who with his wanton act of violence has devastated the Scheidler family. Help do your part to make certain he doesn't get away with murder.
